Eight Common Myths about Fitness Supplements.

Fitness Supplements

Supplements. It’s a word that has both given many people hope and left many others in frustration. Supplement usage is an industry that generates over $60 billion in yearly revenue and yet, despite their popularity, there are still plenty of myths about them floating around out there. We’re going to discuss 5 common myths about sports supplements so you can make the best decision for your body without spending too much money or wasting any time.

  1. “They’re not for me”

This is probably the biggest hurdle that people have to overcome when trying to get some help with their sports supplements. It’s that feeling that you know you’re already doing everything right and aren’t missing out on anything if you don’t take them. In some cases, this might be true, but in most cases, it isn’t.

  1. “There’s not enough evidence”

Science has been around a long time and there have been millions of studies done on different supplements and methods of training. There are so many supplements out on the market because they DO work. They have been proven to work millions of times by thousands and thousands of people. So why are there still so many people who believe that nothing works? Because they’ve never tried them!

  1. “They’re not made correctly”

There are plenty of supplement companies out there, but there are very few that can be trusted to have the correct ingredients in the correct dosages. Most of the time it’s simply because they’re trying to cut their manufacturing costs and use as little as possible in order to make more profit. When you get a reputable company that has a proven track record, you can trust that they know what they’re doing and will provide you with an excellent product.

  1. “I’ve been using this product for years”

How many times have you been told by someone that they’ve been using a specific supplement or method of training for years and that it works every time? Based on popular opinion, if someone has used something long enough to know if it works or not, then it must be true.

  1. “Everyone else is using this”

Just because someone else is using something, or just because everyone is doing it doesn’t make it right or safe for your body. This isn’t the first time that you’ve heard this myth and it probably won’t be the last. There are plenty of great sports supplements out there with a proven track record, but if you’re still not convinced, then at least try one of the products from our list!

  1. “The best products are too expensive”

If you’re a recreational athlete, then it’s probably true that the best products on the market will be somewhat expensive. But why? Because you get what you pay for. If you find a company that can consistently provide a quality product for a lower cost, then it’s likely because they’re cutting corners and we talked about what would happen if you did that already.

  1. “I don’t need the best”

Maybe you don’t need to be a competitive athlete to take supplements. Maybe you just want to make certain aspects of your fitness better. There are plenty of things that you can add to your daily routine that will help you reach your fitness goals without having to pay for something expensive.

  1. “Everyone else is using this”

Just because everyone else is using something, or just because someone else is using something doesn’t make it right or safe for your body.
